Starline Arabians and Whippets is located in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. We have been involved in the breeding and showing of Arabian Horses and Whippets for nearly 40 years.

Our whippet-breeding program is known worldwide. Starline Whippets has bred 150 AKC Champions to date. We are known for producing a “classic” whippet that is curvy, smooth and with correct sound movement. We strive to produce whippets that can be shown successfully anywhere in the world. Our focus is on health, longevity and dispositions that are a delight to live with.

Starline also produced Ch. Starline's Reign On, ROMXX, the top-producing sire in the history of the breed with 130 AKC Champions, and his son Ch. Starline’s Sovereign ROMX, the Number 1 Whippet sire in the US 2011-2015 with 79 AKC Champions to date.

Also, two time AWC National Specialty Winner and Multiple Best In Show Winner Ch.Starline's Claim to Fame, multiple Best In Show and Specialty Best In Show, Ch. Starline's Sweet Sensation, and AWC National Specialty Winner Ch.Starline's Masterpiece.

Carey and I became involved with whippets in 1984. I have shown horses my entire life, so the transition into showing dogs was quite natural. Our foundation bitch was SBIS Ch. Ringmaster's Gold Fever ROM, "Quiche". Call it luck, or fate, but not only was Quiche arguably one of the most beautiful whippets of our time, but she was able to pass on her incredible style and elegance to her kids. Her pedigree was the result of the vision and dedication of some of the true pillars within the breeder’s community. Quiche's pedigree, and all of our dogs that followed, incorporate the outstanding attributes of some of the top-producing dogs in the history of the breed.

In 1990 Quiche was crossed with Ch. Hamrya's Lucky Charm FCH, ROM, producing a litter that defined the future of Starline. Her daughter, BIS, SBIS Ch. Starline's Claim To Fame ROMX , "Brie" was one of the top hounds in the early 1990s and won two American Whippet Club National Specialties, 7 All-Breed Best In Shows, and over 50 Hound Groups. Her son, SBIS Ch. Starline's Reign On JC ROMX, "Reign", is the Number 1 sire in our breed, with 128 American Champions to date. Using frozen semen from Reign, he sired a litter out of SBIS BIS Ch. Starline’s Sweet Sensation that produced Ch. Starline’s Sovereign , the #1 whippet sire in the U.S. 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.

We successfully campaigned BIS,SBIS Ch. Starline's Sweet Sensation to the #1 whippet in the USA in 2003, and #3 Hound. Then came the incomparable GCh. Starline's Chanel, who became the top-winning whippet in AKC History. Chanel was the #1 whippet 2009, 2010, 2011, #1 Hound 2010 and 2011 and Top Ten Among All Breeds 2010 & 2011. In 2013, we campaigned the beautiful GCH Starline's Oxford Victim Of Love (Sired by Ch. Starline’s Sovereign) to #1 Whippet and a Top Ten Hound in the U.S. All Systems, with multiple Bests In Shows and Specialty Bests in Shows to her credit.

The whippets have brought us years of enjoyment and wonderful rewards as breeders, and we will cherish the many great friends we have made along the way.

To date, Starline has garnered 50 US National Championships with our Arabians. Some of our US National Champions are 14 time National Champion Adams Fire, 10 time National Champion SA Gisele, 8 time National Champion Nabasken Afire, 8 time National Champion Emperors Fire, 4 time U.S. National Champion Polkapalooza, 4 time U.S. National Champion Eves Fire and our two homebred National Champions Nutorious and Nuttin But Chrome!
